Macy & The Mooses

These are the "Macy & The Mooses" strips. I got a great response from the initial one, followed by the advice to keep it so that Macy (and Acadia) interact only with the moose (and other animals) who have expressions, but don't talk, and to keep humans (my character) out of it.

These were fun to do, some of them based on actual interactions I had with Macy, others I made up. I don't want to say it was hard to do or come up with material, but at the time I would only see Macy every few months or so. The nieces live nearby now but they're older and speak in coherent sentences, and playtime and imagination is no longer limited to things nearby, like, say, a stuffed moose I'd let her play with...

The Paul Show #36 was done in response to the first Macy & The Mooses strip; a friend sent me a little blurb about his son and so I drew the description. HEY, Newspapers not out of business yet: how about you hire me to draw little things like this about readers' kids? If you still have readers?

BONUS: The Paul Show #86, where I play Wii with Acadia, actual dialogue.
